Ukraine Strikes Russian Naval Base in Crimea, Damages Two Warships
Long-range missile attack on Sevastopol marks escalation of Ukrainian campaign to degrade Russian Black Sea Fleet capabilities.
Ukraine has conducted a significant strike on the Russian naval base at Sevastopol in Crimea, reportedly damaging two warships and destroying air defense systems.
The attack used a combination of Storm Shadow missiles and Ukrainian-made naval drones, demonstrating Kyiv's growing ability to project power deep into Russian-held territory.
"Russia's Black Sea Fleet is increasingly unable to operate safely," said a Ukrainian military spokesman. "We will continue to degrade their capabilities until they leave our waters."
Russia condemned the attack as a "terrorist act" and vowed retaliation. The strike is likely to further complicate already fraught ceasefire negotiations.
