Russia Launches Largest Drone Strike on Ukraine in Months
Over 150 Shahed drones target critical infrastructure across multiple Ukrainian cities as winter offensive intensifies.
Russia has launched its largest drone attack on Ukraine in recent months, deploying over 150 Shahed drones targeting critical infrastructure across multiple cities including Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa.
Ukrainian air defense forces reported intercepting approximately 120 of the drones, but several struck power facilities and residential areas. At least 12 civilians were killed and dozens injured in the overnight assault.
"This is terrorism, pure and simple," said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. "Russia continues to target our civilian infrastructure as winter approaches."
The attack has renewed calls from Western allies for additional air defense systems, with the US and Germany pledging expedited deliveries of Patriot missile batteries.
