Russia and North Korea Sign Major Defense Cooperation Pact

Russia and North Korea have signed a comprehensive defense cooperation agreement during President Putin's visit to Pyongyang, deepening military ties between the two isolated nations.

The pact reportedly includes provisions for technology transfer, joint military exercises, and expanded arms trade. Western intelligence agencies believe North Korea has already supplied millions of artillery shells for Russia's war in Ukraine.

"This is a dangerous development for regional and global security," said a US State Department spokesman. "We will work with allies to counter the threat from this growing axis."

The agreement is likely to face additional international sanctions, though both countries are already among the most heavily sanctioned nations on earth.
